"Vendanges Tardives" is a specific classification for exceptional naturally rich and sweet late harvest wines which are the result of a great patience and experience.
"Holder" : is the best hillside of Wihr-au-Val for Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris. The soil composed of granite and clay, offers them their opuence, complexity and exquisiteness.
However, in the middle of the Holder, there is a rock where the soil is so poor that only the Riesling can grow but with very low yields which provide very concentrated grapes and wines .
This gorgeous Riesling won a Decanter Trophy in 2006 and a gold medal at the Riesling of the World 2009 .

Tasting notes :
- A bright yellow colour with gold reflections
- A well developed and complex nose, first presenting citrus aromas with hints of pineapple and rhubarb, then developing more aromas of over-ripeness like beeswax, honey and candied fruits, very mineral notes .
- On the palate, its richness and power are perfectly well-balanced by its beautiful acidity. The long and lingering finish ends on a astonishing final of freshness.
This is a great wine with lots of personality.
